When it comes to spotting trend reversals, the X Bar Clear Close indicator is a game changer. Unlike traditional tools that rely on Moving Averages or price distance metrics, this indicator focuses solely on bar breakthroughs. It's all about the highs and lows of previous bars!

Here’s how it works:

  • If the current bar closes above the high of the last (x-1) bars, that's your cue for an upward reversal.
  • Conversely, if the current bar closes below the low of the last (x-1) bars, it's signaling a downward reversal.

For example, take a look at the EUR/USD on a daily chart with a pattern size of 10:

Tips for Using the X Bar Clear Close Indicator:

  • The fewer bars you include in your pattern, the more sensitive the indicator becomes. I’d recommend sticking to a range between 3 to 15 bars for optimal performance.
  • Consider using the X Bar Clear Close indicator to pinpoint the trend direction, then complement it with another tool to nail your entry points. This approach was inspired by the pattern I used to identify entry and exit levels.
