What is the Decycler Oscillator?
The Decycler Oscillator is a powerful tool designed for traders using MetaTrader 5. Inspired by John F. Ehlers' article in the Technical Analysis of Stocks & Commodities magazine (September 2015), this indicator helps you identify market trends with precision.
Key Features of the Decycler Oscillator
This indicator comes with three essential input parameters:
- HP Period: This refers to the high-frequency filter period.
- Coefficient: This adjustment ratio is particularly useful when you're using two or more oscillators together.
- Applied Price: This parameter determines the calculation price.
How Does It Work?
The Decycler Oscillator effectively filters out low-frequency components from the Simple Decycler indicator. It utilizes Ehlers' Highpass half-period filter, converting the output into an oscillator that provides clearer signals.
Essentially, it calculates the ratio of input data from the high-frequency filter to the price, multiplying it by a default ratio of 1.0. This process helps traders make more informed decisions.
