The NRTR_Revers EA operates primarily when a new bar forms, except for its trailing feature, which runs with each tick. Trade signals are generated using the iATR (Average True Range) indicator, analyzing the high and low prices within a specified timeframe.
To kick things off, the EA calculates the volatility range. This involves multiplying the ATR value from the first bar by a predetermined volatility coefficient. From there, the system evaluates the current trend.
If the current trend is a BUY:
- Identify the minimum price within the interval from bar #2 to the bar corresponding to the ATR averaging period minus one. For instance, if your ATR averaging period is set to 9, you’ll look for the minimum from bar #2 to bar #8.
- If the closing price of bar #1 is below this identified minimum by the volatility coefficient, it signals to close any BUY positions and open SELL positions instead.
- The trend then switches to SELL.
For SELL positions, the same methodology applies.
