If you’re looking to sharpen your trading skills using historical data, you’ve come to the right place! HistoryTrain is a fantastic program designed specifically for this purpose. Give it a whirl; you might find it quite intriguing!
To get started, simply run the training.exe application, open the Strategy Tester, and begin testing with the attached Expert Advisor, HistoryTrain.mql. Don’t forget to switch to visual mode and tweak the scroll speed of the historical data to suit your needs.
Before diving in, make sure you enable DLL imports in your MetaTrader settings. Here’s how:
- Go to the Tools menu, then Options.
- Check the boxes for:
- Allow DLL imports
- Allow live trading
- Uncheck:
- Confirm DLL function calls
In the application window, you’ll see just three buttons: Buy, Sell, and Close. Keep an eye on the currency chart as you execute trades on historical data, and watch your profits roll in!
To set everything up, unpack the archive to the root directory. You’ll find a folder named c:\HistTraining\ containing the following files:
- HistoryTrain.mql
- libSharedVarsDLLv2.def
- SharedVarsDLLv2.dll
- Training.exe
