Hey traders! Today, we’re diving into a powerful strategy using the Average Directional Index (ADX) combined with Moving Averages (MAs) in MetaTrader 4. This approach can really help you identify market trends and improve your trading decisions.

How the Setup Works

This system utilizes two MAs with the following input parameters:

  • maPerBig: 25
  • ModeBig: 2
  • appPriceBig: 2
  • maPerSmall: 5
  • ModeSmall: 1
  • appPriceSmall: 0

Here’s a quick breakdown:

  • maPerBig and maPerSmall represent the periods for your moving averages. The larger MA will smooth out the trends, while the smaller one gives you quick signals.
  • ModeBig and ModeSmall define the type of moving average used—simple, exponential, etc.

ADX Input Parameters

Now, let’s look at the ADX settings:

  • advPeriod: 11
  • appPriceAdx: 4
  • advLevelMa: 13
  • advLevelPl: 13
  • advLevelMi: 14

The ADX gives you a sense of the strength of a trend. By configuring these parameters, you can fine-tune how sensitive the ADX will be to price changes.

Remember, the key to successful trading lies in understanding these indicators and how they interact. Happy trading!
