Are you looking to stay ahead in the trading game? The awo Holidays EA is a fantastic tool for all you MetaTrader 4 users out there. It gives you a heads-up on the upcoming day—whether it’s a trading day, a day off, or a holiday.

How does it work? Well, the EA pulls holiday data from a file named 'holidays.csv', which you need to place in both the '\expert\files' and '\tester\files' folders on your platform. It even filters the holidays by symbol, so if you’re trading GBP/JPY, you’ll see only the relevant British and Japanese holidays alongside international ones.

Visual Indicators

The program uses two types of vertical lines to signal when the next day is approaching:

  • Solid Line: This indicates the start and end of a trading day (the swap line).
  • Dashed Line: This marks the start and end of an astronomical day.

Here's how the color coding works:

  • Light Blue: The next calendar day is a working day.
  • Blue: The next calendar day is Saturday.
  • Orange: The next calendar day is a holiday (more on this below).

Additionally, you’ll find comments displaying the statuses of the previous, current, and the next three calendar days. This way, you’re always in the loop!

The EA operates on all pairs and timeframes up to D1, making it quite versatile for your trading strategy.

Data Availability

Currently, I only have data from 2007. This data was sourced from Alpari's holiday analytics page. If anyone has data for other years, I’d appreciate it if you could send it my way at a-wo@mail.ru. Thanks in advance!

This graph illustrates clear spikes on Friday evenings and Monday mornings, which many traders find crucial for timing their trades.

While this is a draft of my trading robot, I thought it could be beneficial to fellow traders out there. I'm also considering developing something similar to highlight economic events and trading session times. Stay tuned!
