Collecting Tick Data Made Easy with Tick Collector

If you're trading on MetaTrader 4, you know how essential it is to have accurate tick data. That's where the Tick Collector Expert Advisor comes into play. This handy tool gathers tick history for your chosen symbols and saves it into CSV files, making your data analysis a breeze.

How It Works

The Tick Collector creates file names based on the security name and current date in the format: Symbol_Year.Month.csv. These files are stored in your terminal directory at: path_to_terminal\experts\files\[Ticks]\Server name\.

External Variables You Should Know

  • SymbolList: This is where you specify the symbols for which you want to collect ticks. You can include 1 to 32 symbols, separated by commas. Just make sure all the symbols are visible in your Market Watch window.
  • WriteWarnings: This option lets you choose whether to log connection failures (like "Connection lost") and when the EA stops running (like "Expert was stopped"). Enabling this feature can help you pinpoint any gaps in your historical data.
