Hey fellow traders! Today, I want to share something that could really level up your trading game. This is a demo of how you can tweak optimization results in a text editor to enhance your trading strategy using an Expert Advisor (or EA, as we like to call it).
Now, the signals generated by the MT4 strategy tester optimizer are pretty impressive. Each of these signals boasts a profit factor greater than 2, which is no small feat! However, a word of caution: many of these signals might pop up just once throughout the entire historical data. That means it’s crucial for various types of signals to confirm each other before you dive in.
One key setting to keep in mind is the "MinSignSum." This represents the number of confirmations you need, and trust me, it should never drop below 4! This ensures that you’re not placing all your bets on a one-off signal.
I’m sharing this to show you that even if you’re just starting out in coding, you can create some real trading powerhouses! Just a heads up, though—this isn’t recommended for live trading just yet!
And for those who might be interested, the first version has been updated to v0.15, correcting a few initial mistakes.
For your backtesting pleasure, I used Forex Tester data with the default settings from January 1, 2001, to June 30, 2011. Just a note, the test kicks off from the 100th H4 bar.
