The Guppy Indicator, developed by Daryl Guppy, is a powerful tool for traders using MetaTrader 4. This indicator consists of six Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs) with periods of 3, 5, 8, 10, 12, and 15, which help identify the direction and strength of short-term trends—essentially giving you insight into the speculator's market behavior.

In addition to the short-term EMAs, there's a second set featuring six EMAs with longer periods: 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, and 60. These are designed to gauge the direction and strength of long-term trends, reflecting the actions of bigger investors. While the Guppy Indicator is primarily intended for daily charts, you can also adapt it for other timeframes like M15 or H1, maintaining the same periods and setups.

One of the great features of this indicator is the flexibility it offers. You can customize the type of Moving Average, the periods, and the price applied (like high, low, open, close, typical, and weighted). This allows you to fine-tune the indicator to suit the timeframe you’re more comfortable trading or to make it more responsive to minor shifts in the current trend.

Using both groups of EMAs together provides valuable insights into the agreement or disagreement between investors and speculators. This understanding can lead to better entry points, whether you're aligning with the current trend or anticipating shifts in market direction.

When you notice that the two groups of EMAs are parallel and closely aligned, it usually indicates that both investors and speculators are in sync, suggesting that a significant price movement is imminent. As famously illustrated in "Market Wizards," this scenario is akin to the eerie silence before a storm on a bustling Wall Street—prices stagnate, and then suddenly, a surge of activity sends emotions soaring.

I should mention that I’m not a programmer; I developed this indicator for my personal use and now wish to share it with you all. In this latest version, I’ve added the option to shift the moving averages, thanks to a suggestion from a fellow trader.
