Standard Darvas Box indicators have their quirks, and one of the biggest is that they’re not symmetrical. The way they calculate the upper and lower channel borders doesn’t utilize anti-symmetric algorithms, which is perfectly fine when looking at stock price movements. However, in the realm of Forex, that approach feels a bit off.
In the standard version, the calculation period is fixed at five, which really limits how we can use Darvas Boxes. Given these constraints, traders have sought to enhance this indicator by creating a version that’s completely symmetrical. This new version allows for more flexibility in the calculation period, giving you greater control over your trades.
