Hey traders! Today, let's dive into the Mirror MA indicator, a powerful tool for your MetaTrader 5 setup. This nifty indicator showcases two mirrored moving averages in a separate chart window, giving you a clear view of the difference between them. Plus, it includes a signal line derived from a direct moving average calculation.

Here’s a quick rundown of its eight input parameters that you can tweak to fit your trading style:

  • First MA Period - This is the period for your direct MA calculation.
  • First MA Method - Choose your method for calculating the first MA.
  • First MA Applied Price - Select the price type for the first MA.
  • Second MA Period - This one’s for your reverse MA calculation.
  • Second MA Method - Pick your method for the second MA.
  • Second MA Applied Price - Decide on the price type for the second MA.
  • Signal Period - This sets the calculation period for the signal line.
  • Signal Method - Choose how you want to calculate the signal line.

Calculations:

Direct = MA1 - MA2,
Reverse = MA2 - MA1
Signal = MA(Direct, Signal period, Signal method)

Where:

MA1 = MA(First MA applied price, First MA period, First MA method)
MA2 = MA(Second MA applied price, Second MA period, Second MA method)

Keep in mind, if the calculation data for these two MAs ends up being identical (which means the difference is zero), you’ll get a warning message. The indicator will pause until you adjust the parameters.
